CVRM Professional Care unveils inaugural conference programme
A major conference breaking down silos across healthcare specialisms will shine a spotlight on some of the biggest developments and challenges shaping cardiovascular, renal and metabolic (CVRM) care.
The inaugural programme for CVRM Professional Care features sessions on artificial intelligence (AI), tackling health inequalities, integrated care and strengthening collaboration across healthcare settings.
Taking place at Olympia in London on October 20 and 21, the event will unite diabetes, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic specialists for two days of learning, collaboration and knowledge-sharing across connected areas of care.
From keynote presentations and real-world case studies to panel discussions and expert insights, the programme will explore the full spectrum of CVRM care.
Dr Kevin Fernando, Portfolio GP with an Extended Role in Diabetes, will chair CVRM Professional Care 2026 and open the conference with a session exploring what CVRM means for the future of integrated care.
The programme will feature expert insights from across the field, including a practical guide to building a CVRM clinic from consultants at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Dr Lisa Anderson, Dr Debasish Banerjee and Dr Mimi Chen) and a session on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in CVRM care from Professor David Strain, Associate Professor in Cardiometabolic Health at the University of Exeter Medical School.
The programme will explore innovative approaches to improving CVRM care, including a session on how ELOPE is re-engineering cardiovascular disease prevention through practice-based and community pharmacy, co-led by leading experts from across the NHS.
Delegates will also hear insights on strengthening collaboration between primary and secondary care from Danny Bartlett, Clinical Lead at the Primary Care School Kent, Surrey and Sussex, alongside Janaka Karalliedde, Professor of Clinical Diabetes and Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Internal Medicine at King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, who will explore CVRM approaches for diverse populations.
